Welcome to Building Happiness: Thorns and All
Updated: Sep 16
Queer happiness isn’t just a dream—it’s a right. And yet, the world doesn’t always make space for it. Too often, our joy is overlooked, dismissed, or treated like a footnote to our struggles. But here? Here, we claim it. Building Happiness: Thorns and All exists because queer happiness deserves to be nurtured, explored, and celebrated in all its messy, thorny, and radiant forms.
This isn’t about toxic positivity or pretending life is all sunshine and roses. It’s about real joy—the kind that comes from embracing every part of yourself, even the parts the world tries to dim. It’s about resilience, community, and the power of connection. Founded by a mental health clinician (that’s me, hi!), Thorns and All is a space for queer folks looking for meaningful support, resources, and conversations about what it actually takes to build happiness.
Here’s what you’ll find:
🌿 Community & Connection – A space where you don’t have to explain yourself, where you belong exactly as you are.
🌵 Mental & Emotional Well-Being – Tools, resources, and coaching to support your growth—because healing isn’t a solo act.
🌺 Queer Joy & Resilience – Stories, reflections, and reminders that even in hard times, joy is still possible.
🌞 Self-Discovery & Growth – Affirmations, insights, and challenges to help you step into your power.
This blog is just the beginning. There’s coaching, free and paid content, courses, and who knows what else down the road. Because queer joy isn’t passive; it’s something we build together.
So, if you’ve ever felt like happiness was just out of reach, know this: it isn’t. Not for you, not for us. Let’s claim it—thorns and all.
Welcome. You belong here.
